Please read Prometheus Limited Warranty below and follow the instructions
when returning your Prometheus lighter for Warranty or Lifetime Repair Service.

Prometheus International, Inc. offers warranty and repair service on your Prometheus lighter, as described below.  We therefore ask you to return your Prometheus lighter to Prometheus Service Center rather than to the retail store in the event of a malfunction.

Prometheus Lighters covered by Two-Year Limited Warranty: Prometheus International, Inc. warrants that if your Prometheus lighter malfunctions within two years from the date of original retail purchase, it will repair it upon submission of the lighter to Prometheus Service Center with the copy of the original purchase receipt and payment of a shipping and handling fee, as described in the section below entitled "Table of Shipping & Handling and Repair Fees."

Prometheus Lighters without Warranty: Prometheus International, Inc. will repair your "warranty-period-expired", "not-covered-by-warranty" and "discontinued" Prometheus lighter for lifetime as long as we have the repair parts for your lighter. Please enclose a check or money order of $25.00 in sending your Prometheus lighter. However, Prometheus Service Center reserves its right to charge additional amount for repairing "warranty-period-expired", "not-covered-by-warranty" and "discontinued" Prometheus lighters. Upon receiving your lighter, Prometheus Service Center will contact you if any additional repair charge is required. If we cannot repair your lighter, we will send it back to you with your payment. Repair Return Form for Lighters without the Warranty (PDF)

If your Prometheus lighter is a discontinued model and two years have passed since the official discontinuation date, your Prometheus lighter is out of warranty. The Company will repair it upon submission of the lighter to Prometheus Service Center with a repair fee of $25.00. The list of discontinued models and their official discontinuation dates are found in our web site: http://www.prometheuskkp.com/discontinued.htm.

Exclusions:

1.  This limited warranty does not cover the outer case mechanism and finish of your lighter ( e.g. , cap, hinge, etc.).

2.  This limited warranty may be enforced only by the first consumer user; all subsequent purchasers acquire the lighter "as is" without any benefit of this limited warranty.

3.  This limited warranty does not cover damage resulting from accident, misuse, abuse, tampering, neglect, or from other than normal and ordinary use of your lighter.

4.  This limited warranty does not cover damage resulting from failure to clean or use your lighter in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions.

5.  This limited warranty does not cover damage resulting from repair or attempted repair by anyone other than Prometheus Service Center.

Limitation of Implied Warranties and Exclusion of Certain Damages: PROMETHEUS INTERNATIONAL, INC. DISCLAIMS LIABILITY FOR INCIDENTAL AND CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES FOR BREACH OF ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY, INCLUDING ANY IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY, WITH RESPECT TO YOUR LIGHTER. THIS WRITING CONSTITUTES THE ENTIRE AGREEMENT OF THE PARTIES WITH RESPECT TO THE SUBJECT MATTER HEREOF; NO WAIVER OR AMENDMENT SHALL BE VALID UNLESS IN WRITING SIGNED BY PROMETHEUS INTERNATIONAL, INC. Some states in the U.S. do not allow the exclusion or limitation of consequential damages, so the above limitation or exclusion may not apply to you.

How to Obtain Warranty and Repair Service:

Please do not return the lighter to the store where you purchased it, but return it directly to Prometheus Service Center.
Drain all gas from your lighter and package it properly so that it will not be damaged during shipment. The Company recommends that you insure the shipment of your lighter and request proof of delivery. Prometheus Service Center is not responsible for lost, late, damaged, misdirected, or postage-due mail. For customers residing in the U.S., the Company recommends using US Postal Service with Tracking, Federal Express (FedEx) or United Parcel Service (UPS) to ship your lighter to Prometheus Service Center. By using one of these delivery services, you will be able to track your package.

Please submit with your lighter:
    
     Copy of the original purchase receipt (if you have)
     Shipping and handling fee
     Address to which the repaired lighter should be returned
     Your e-mail address and telephone number

Please note that if the Company has to contact you to request you to submit the above shipping & handling or repair fee after receiving your lighter, you will be charged an administrative fee of $5.00.

Do not return your lighter in its original Prometheus gift box. The gift box will not be returned to you. Also, any returned lighters, which do not get processed for over 120 days due to your failure to send the shipping & handling or repair fee, will be disposed and not returned to you.  Prometheus Service Center is not responsible for any lighters left in our service center for more than 120 days.

If you would like to check the status of your lighter warranty service, please submit your inquiry via the warranty status form, http://www.prometheuskkp.com/warr_inquiry.htm, or mail or fax it to the Prometheus Service Center with your name, the address to which you requested the lighter be returned, and the date on which you sent your lighter in for warranty service. Note that the Company only responds to status inquiries as to lighters that were sent in more than 30 days prior to the status inquiry.

WARNING: KEEP OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.
Ignite lighter away from face and clothing. Be sure the flame is out after use. If your lighter does not self-extinquish, close cover to put out. Lighter contains flammable gas under pressure. Never expose to heat above 120°F (49°C) or to prolonged sunlight. Never leave lighter on dashboard or near window shelf of any vehicle. Never puncture or put in fire. Extreme heat is present above the visible flame. Extra care should be taken to prevent burn injury or fire. Do not keep lit for more than 10 seconds.

CAUTION: Be sure flame is extinguished after use.
